HONEY, I'M HOME...

Conceptualised from the regression of gender roles during the COVID-19 pandemic to a time reminiscence of the 1950s. With women undertaking the stereotypical role of ‘house-wife’, allowing their male counterparts to focus solely on becoming the ‘breadwinner’.

‘Honey, I’m Home…’ is a plus-size collection designed to celebrate the female figure through vibrant colour and kitsch pattern. With conscious elements throughout the collection with the use of end-of-roll fabrics, deadstock and natural yarns, and vintage fastenings. Incorporating sustainable aspects into plus-size fashion was paramount to the designer as it remains a rarity within this side of the industry.

Utilising body-scanning facilities and Clo-3D software to produce a range of digital avatars to experiment with pattern cutting techniques before manufacturing 2D toiles, working closely with plus-size models for consistent input and adjustment. With the demand for greater representation, the collection is a direct call to action that plus-size fashion does not have to be shapeless or boring.
